U21 Defeated by Commercial in south semi final

Saturday 31st March

South Senior Football Championship

Moyle Rovers V Kilsheelan/Kilcash in Clonmel Sportsfield at 4.30pm.

RESULTS

On Monday last our U21 took on Commercials in the South Semi Final,  There was not much between the sides, it was a battle to the very end as always.  Craig Condon, Thomas Hill & Liam Boland(2pt from Frees) scored in the first half, to leave the half time score Moyle Rovers 0-4 Commercials 0-6.

Thomas Hill opened the second half with a point and a goal from a penalty.  Liam Carey scored a second goal while Liam Boland & Jack Lonergan added three points between them.  Unfortunately in the end this just wasn’t enough Final score Moyle Rovers 2-8 Commercials 1-12.

Our Minors took on Mullinahone on Saturday last, On the day our boys came away with a comprehensive win on a scoreline of Moyle Rovers 3-16 Mullinahone 2-4

We faced Cahir in the next round of the Premier Division of the County League on Sunday afternoon last.  Our footballers came away with a good win on a scoreline of Moyle Rovers 3.10 Cahir 2-9.

U10
 
The U10 indoor season came to an end last Friday with the finals of
the Michael McGrath Memorial Trophy. The hurling tournament threw up
many enthralling encounters, culminating in an epic final. John
McGrath presented the trophy to Zak Cahalane, captain of the winning
team. John commented on the ever improving skill levels of the players
and urged them all to keep up the commitment to training and practice.
All players enjoyed the party afterwards and many thanks to everyone
who helped with cakes, snacks and buns, it is all very much
appreciated.
U10 training continues outdoors from 7pm to 8pm on Tuesdays and Fridays.
 
OPEN DAY

Our annual open day for the new stars will be held on Sunday 1st April  2012 in Monroe sports complex from 2.30 to 4.30 for Under 6’s and under 8’s.  All are welcome to attend.

MEMBERSHIP

It is that time of year again, Membership is now due for all.  Membership form can be found on the website if you have not already received one.  All Membership must be returned as soon as possible

CAMOGIE

Moyle Rovers hosted the first U12 camogie blitz of the season. It was a great start to the year with Annacarty, Arravale Rovers, Ballingarry , St Mary's and Moyle Rovers competing. All teams played four games with very sporting competitive camogie matches. The blitz ran very smoothly thanks to all who helped on the day. Thanks to Pat O'Connor for preparing the pitches, Helen Breen for preparing the essential goodybags, our referees Olivia Shanahan, Andrew and Shania Dowling, and Sarah Everard. John Ryan and his U12 team did us proud on the day and we look forward to seeing these girls continue in this vein. Our team on the day was Leah Mc Garry, Sophie Delaney, Yasmin Quirke, Áine Fitzgerald, Emer Ryan, Louise Norris, Karen Meehan, Lucy Whyte, Ellen Buckley, Simone Heneghan, Sarah Clarke, Kellie Ryan and Clare O'Dwyer.

Training continues every Friday from 6-7pm for under 8,10,12,14 and 16s. New members welcome. Registration is required for all players .cost €20.

U12s

Raheen Road Clonmel was the venue for our second blitz of the year which was hosted by St Mary's on Sat March 24th. Carrick Swan were our first opponents and our girls acquitted themselves very well as a team and came out on top with very committed play from start to finish. Our next game was against St Mary's which was was a very sporting encounter with fine displays of camogie all round. Many thanks to St Mary's for the welcome refreshments and hospitality.  We were ably represented by Emma Tobin, Leah Mc Garry, Ellen Buckley, Sophie Delaney, Karen Meehan, Sarah Clarke, Yasmin Quirke, Sarah Hickey, Meghan Eastwood, Amy Norris, Clare O'Dwyer, Louise Norris and Áine Fitzgerald. Many thanks also to John Ryan Karen Fitzgearld and Anne Mc Garry for all their support on the sideline. 

Practice

Practice continues every Friday from 6-7pm. New members welcome. For those who have yet to pay membership of 20 euros is now due  and can be paid to any of the coaches at practice.
