U21 footballers to Face Anner Gaels in first round of the championship

Under 21 Football:The U21 ‘A’ footballers begin their South Championship campaign with a game against Anner Gaels in Ned Hall Park, Clonmel at 12.30 pm on Sunday next, 10th February.
County Seniors:At Thurles on Sunday last in the first game of the National Football League our club had three players involved. Philip Quirke started at midfield with Peter Acheson at full-forward. In the second half Alan Campbell was introduced as a substitute. Unfortunately the home side went under to Carlow by the narrowest of margins in the end.
Club Social:Don’t forget the Moyle Rovers Club Social which will take place on Saturday, 23rd February in Monroe. Dinner will be followed by music from ‘The Legends.’ Tickets at 25 Euro each are available from any committee member.On the night medals will be presented to the Intermediate football side who won the South Championship and also the minor footballers for their success in the County Minor League.

Get well wishes:The club send best wishes to Cha Boland who was hospitalised over the weekend. Also get well wishes to young Claire Moore who too was in hospital last weekend.Wishing both a very speedy recovery.

Sympathies:The club extends sincere sympathy to the family of Maureen Hallinan, Laganore, who died recently. Maureen is grandmother of Gary Hallinan. May she rest in peace.Sympathy also to Michael Keating, chairman of Newcastle GAA Club, on the recent death of his sister, Mary Dunne. R.I.P.Cul 

Camp:While it is still a long way off, we have decided on our juvenile club Cul Camp dates for 2013. This year’s event will commence on Monday, 12th August. Take a note of it for your diary.

LADIES:The Ladies football club had a very enjoyable medal presentation last Sunday evening in Monroe.Chairman Pat Fahey got proceedings underway and thanked all involved in making 2012 such a successful year.  Medals were presented to Under 12s, 14s, Minor,and Junior winning teams. Presentations were made to the players by County Chairman Tommy Campbell and Declan Browne. Special mention to Michelle McMeel, Shania Dowling, Evrena Everard and Bronagh McGrath who each received three county medals (under 14, Minor, Junior), surely a Club record.Training for under 16, Junior and senior teams began last  weekend. Congratulations to Sarah Everard who was a member of the Munster Post primary Schools team who retained their interprovincal crown in Mullingar last Saturday week, defeating Connaught in the final. Commiserations to our club representatives Gillian O’Brien, Barbara Ryan, Niamh Lonergan and Katie Lynn who were members of the narrowly defeated Tippeary Intermediate Team who were narrowly defeated by Waterford in the Jim Kennedy Cup Final. Also to Club representatives involved in the Team management Sean O’Donovan and Kay Lyons.CamogieThe Camogie Club held its first meeting of the new year. Plans were discussed for the forthcoming year. Training every  Friday at 5.30pm indoors at Monroe for under 8s,10s and 12s. Camogie is a wonderful game for girls. The earlier they start the better so come along and give it a try. Registration evening will be held the following Friday. Registration for the year is €20. All welcome especially new members. Hurleys and Helmets can be ordered through the primary schools at significantly reduced prices and these must be ordered in the next few weeks.
