RESULTS

On Monday evening last our Intermediate Hurlers took on St Mary’s in the South Championship. It was, as always a closely contested game between these two sides. Our Rovers Men came out victorious in the end on a final scoreline of Moyle Rovers 1-16 St Mary’s 1-11.

Our U14 Footballers have had a very busy weekend. It started last Thursday with the South Final against Commercial. On a lovely sunny evening in Ardfinnan, there was a closely contest final between these two teams. Commercial got off to the much better started scoring 2-1, but our boys didn’t panic. They began to work their way back into the game with points from David Roberts, Stephen Quirke & Ciaran Luttrell. It was a brilliantly converted penalty from Bill Johnston that brought the sides level for the first time. David Robert point for the third time in the game to put us ahead at half time Moyle Rovers 1-5 Commercial 2-1. Throughout the second half the was very little between the sides with Commercial scoring 4 points and we replying with four points scored by David Robert, Ciaran Luttrell & Stephen Quirke. It was Ciaran Luttrell that got the winning goal. Final Score Moyle Rovers 2-9 Commercials 2-5.

We then travelled to Golden on Monday night as South Champions to take on Arravale Rovers in the County Semi Final. . Our boys got off to a better start this time with seven points scored between David Roberts, Stephen Quirke, Danny Owens, & Dara Ryan, While Arravale Rovers could only manage two points against a strong Rovers Defence. Half time Score Moyle Rovers 0-7 Arravale Rovers 0-2. Despite Arravale Rovers scoring 6 points in the second half, it was too little too late as Stephen Quirke & Dara Ryan had scored a goal each, While David Roberts excellent free taking added three more points to his tally. Final Score Moyle Rovers 2-10 Arravale Rovers 0-8.

Best of luck to the boys and their Mentors in the County Final, which is due to be played Saturday.
