Our under 12s played Carrick Swans last Saturday week in Carrick. We started slowly and were behind by two points at half time. The second half was the team's best performance of the year as they fought hard to get valuable scores. Emma Tobin showed great bravery in goal and was alert to any danger near the goalmouth..Our backs of Amy Norris,Sarah O'Dwyer,Sarah Hickey and Janice Lonergan were excellent in defending plenty of attacks..Further out Emma Cronin, Eimer Ryan and Kristy Ryan Crotty were superb all through. Kristy scoring some super long range points. Jenny Everard and Rachael Brown worked very hard at centre field Rachael scoring some excellent points. Our forwards Leah McGarry,Roweena Dowling,Aine Fitzgearld and Eadoinn O'Sullivan worked tireless all through. Mention must be made of three super goals,A great ground shot by Aine Ffitzgearld and two great block downs by Eadoinn O'Sullivan on the goalie which forced the ball into the net.The final score was 3-6 to 1-1.It was great to see lots effective ground hurling on the day.Well done to all concerned.
