Ladies Football.

Very well done to our Senior team who beat Listowel  in the Munster Club B  Semi final last Sunday in Glanworth. This was a tremendous achievement for the club in its first year as a Senior team. On a near perfect day for football our girls settled well and had the opening point of the match.Featuring a good mix of experience and younger players all combined very well to produce some great passing play and excellent scores..Both teams were very evenly matched during the first half and our girls were  2-5 to 2-3 ahead at half time.Moyle Rovers resumed the second half with greater purpose and determination and out played and out scored Listowel  to end a great day on a score  line of 3-11 to 3-3. The Management and Panel are to be commended on a great victory and we wish them all the best in the Munster final against St.Vals of Cork. This match is fixed for Mallow this Saturday.  As the girls represent our club and county they deserve our fullest support .
Camogie. Under 12..Our final league game was on Saturday 20th October against Clonoulty. Our backs Amy Norris, Louise Norris, Aine Fitzgerald, Sophie Delaney and Yasmin Quirke defended magnificently in the first half only conceding one point and our goalie Kellie Ryan  kept a clean sheet. Clare O'Dwyer took over as goalkeeper in the second half and pulled off some magnificent saves to keep us in the game. Despite many attacks we could not convert it to the scoreboard. Our midfield of Emer Ryan and Sarah Hickey worked tirelessly supplying the sliotar to our forwards Karen Meehan, Meghan Eastwood, Erin Mitten and Emma Cronin,  Leah Mc Garry was denied a certain goal as the Clonoulty goalie made a superb save. On the day we had to give way to Clonoulty who won by 5 points. We are very proud of this committed and talented bunch of girls who have had a very long season which began last February. Many thanks to John Ryan and Anne Mc Garry for their commitment to training the girls every Friday. Our last outdoor practice will be on Friday at 6pm in preparation for the final blitz of the season in Fethard on Saturday. Team: Kellie Ryan, Clare O'Dwyer, Amy Norris, Louise Norris, Sophie Delaney, Áine Fitzgerald, Yasmin Quirke, Emer Ryan, Sarah Hickey, Emma Cronin, Leah Mc Garry, Karen Meehan ,Meghan Eastwood and Erin Mitten.
