RESULTS

On Saturday last our U12 A & B were participating in the county final
of the end games in Littleton.
It was a wonderful day of hurling for all involved.
Our U12”A” took on Kildangan first in what was an exciting game of
hurling.  With scores from Gavin Byrne, Brian Lacey, Daniel Quigley,
Conor McGrath, Ben Owens & Brian Quirke.  We won on a scoreline of
Moyle Rovers 3-3 Kildangan 3-2.  We then faced Boherlahan in the Semi
Final. This was yet again another very close contest.  Our scorers for
this game were Ben Owens, Brian Lacey & Diarmuid Mulcahy, but it was a
last minute goal for Boherlahan that bet us.  Final score Moyle Rovers
2-2 Boherlahan 2-3.  U12 “A” panel of players were: Gavin Byrne, Ross
Gavin, Brian Lacey, Diarmuid Mulcahy, Jack Phelan, Daniel Quigley,
Kieran Quirke, Sean Cotter, Jack Holohan, Conor McGrath, Ben Owens,
Josh Power, Brian Quirke, Conor Og Ryan.  Well done to all the boys.

Our U12 “B” took on Lorrha in their first game.  There was very little
between the sides but Anthony Phelan who scored 1-3 with Cian Walsh
added a further point, to come away with a great win.  Final Score
Moyle Rovers 1-4 Lorrha 0-4.   Then now faced Thurles Gael in the semi
final,  Our scoring ability was a little more widespread in this game
with scores from Ciaran Casey, Joe Devoy, Sean Hackett & Anthony
Phelan.  Again winning by 3 points.  Final score Moyle Rovers 2-3
Thurles Gaels 0-6.  It was back to a battle of the South for the
county final as their apponents were neighbours Clonmel Og.  This was
a great game of hurling with nothing between the sides throughout the
game.  It was Anthony Phelan who scored out two points but Clonmel Og
managed to score that vital third point.  Final Score Moyle Rovers 0-2
Clonmel Og 0-3.  U12 “B” panel: Rian Bolton, Michael Cleary, Jake
Fahey, Aaron Kiely, Mike McGrath, Seamas O Brien, Brian O’Sullivan,
Harry Phelan, Adam Maher, Ciaran Casey, Joe Devoy, Sean Hackett, Aidan
Lonergan, Brian McKeown , Brian O Dea, Anthony Phelan & Cian Walsh.
Well done to all the boys.

On Saturday evening our attention then turn to our Intermediate
Hurlers.  The South Semi Final against St Marys in Cahir.  St Marys
got off to a good start scoring two unanswered point but as the first
half went on we battled on and managed to go in level at half time 0-7
each.   The team scored point for point until the 11th Minute of the
second half, when points from Sean Carey (free), Peter Acheson &
Declan Browne gave us a three point lead with 9 minutes left to play.
It all went wrong from there, as St Marys managed to score 5
unanswered point to win in the closing minutes on a final scoreline of
Moyle Rovers 0-13 St Marys 0-15.

LADIES FOOTBALL

Our Juniors started the week with a fine win over Lattin Cullen in  Monroe last Monday evening. While still bearing the signs  of the early morning thunder storm the pitch was deemed  playable and the  game went ahead. Our Girls started with great intent and determination and got an early grip on the game which they never relinquished. The final score was 4-16 to 0-0. This was a great team effort combing determined and intelligent  play which created chances and plenty of resultant scores.  We had the upper hand at centrefield where the  scoring chances were set up. Team .Rachael Delahunty,Sinead Cosgrave,Joan O'Donnell,Danni Delahunty,Aoife Cosgrave,Aoife Power,Shania Dowling,Danni di Ruzza,Rosin McGrath ,(2-2 ) ,Caroline Quirke, Marie Kelly (0-2f),Cora  (0-1),Bronagh McGrath(1-0),Sinead Kenrick (0-1),Megan Shanahan,(0-3). Substitutes :Kristy Crotty Ryan (1-5),Clionadh Collins,Ruth O'Dwyer,Evrena Everard,(0-2) Michelle McMeel. The weather was the dominant influence for the remainder of the week as Training and scheduled matches were all cancelled.Best of luck to Tipperary Under 16 team,  our club representatives Hazel Shanahan.Leanne Ryan (recovered from recent  injury) and Sarah Everard  and selector Francis Ryan as they contest the All Ireland final this Saturday in Banagher Co.Offaly at 1.00pm  against Cavan. Our Girls will hope to emulate the magnificent  achievements of last year's All Ireland medal winners Aoife Power and Megan Shanahan who were part of Tiiperay's All Ireland winning  Under 14 team.Well done also to Tipperary Intermediate team who beat Roscommon at the weekend and good luck to our club representatives,Gillian O'Brien,Shauna Ryan and Katie Lyne,Manager Sean O Donovan,Management Kay Lyons as they face Cavan in a play off.

The senior team bowed out of the championship last Sunday evening following a 1-13 to 2-6 defeat at the hands of current county champions Cappawhite. Moyle Rovers had the opening point of the game before Cappawhite responded with five answered points. The half time score was 0-7 to 0-2. On the resumption Moyle Rovers began renewed vigour and had two points from what were really two goal chances.Cappawhite responded with a point and then a goal. The Moyle Rovers ladies then found themselves with an uphill battle being ten points behind. They responded magnificently and with  great determination they  were rewarded with two super goals in the space of two minutes by Gillain O'Brien.Nancy Ferris then added a point following a  great run by Marie Kelly and then  another point to leave just two points between the teams. A relieved Cappawhite had the last two points of the game to leave the score 1-13 to 2-6. Well done to the team of |Ciara O'Donoghue,Aisling O'Dwyer,Hazel Shanahan,Leanne Ryan,Tina Mulcahy,Bairbre Ryan,Gemma O'Dwyer,Katie Lyne,Shauna O'Brien,Nancy Ferris,Gillian O'Brien,Marie Kelly,Ann Marie McGrath,Monnica Griffen,Sinead Heffernan.Rachael Delahunty,Joan O'Donnell,Ciara Maher,Irene Codd,Danni Delahunty,Gillian Hickey,Sinead Kenrick,Megan Shanahan,Caroline Quirke,Aoife Power.Well done also to the management Team of keith delahunty ,Catherine Delahunty and Anthony Burke. The under 10s had a very successful Blitz last Saturday morning in brilliant sunshine. Well done to all who organised and helped on the day. The under 16s played Brian Borus last Thursday evening and we had a  very one sided contest as Moyle Rovers ran out easy winners against an understrenght Brian Borus.  On the county scene it was a disappointing week for Tipperary as the Intermediates were defeated by Cavan in a play off to end their championship involvement. The under 16s were also beaten by Cavan in the All Ireland final in Banagher. In a very winnable game they were two points short at the finish on a scoreline of 4-11 to  5-6.Well done to all our club representatives who represented Tipperary during the year and made huge sacrifices in doing so.
