LADIES FOOTBALL

The minor ladies went to Mullinahone last Sunday for the remaining game of their group. We got a very Stern test from Mullinahone but our girls responded well and were deserving winners on a soceline of 5-14 to 3-9. Mullinahone were playing their opening game of the competition and they started very well with a goal and a point. Moyle rovers knew they were in a tough challenge and began to fight for the game. They were rewarded with some well taken scores and came more into the game. We were 2-8 to 1-3 ahead at halftime. On the resumption the game was again keenly contested and our Girls had to work very hard all over the field to prevent scores and create scoring chances for themselves.Well done to all concerned as this confirms our semi final place.Team was Rachael Delahunty,Gillian Hickey,Hazel Shanahan,Leanne Ryan,Aoife Power,Aoife CosgraveCiara Ryan,,Orla Ryan,Rosin McGrath,Sinead Kenrick,Laura Grace,Danni Di Ruzza,Megan Shanahan,Caroline Quirke,Niamh Brennan, Aisling O'Donovan,Ciara O'Loughlin,Sinead Cosgrave,Sarah Everard,Hazel Boland. CAMOGIE

U12 We played Cashel last Saturday in the U12 Go-Games League in Cashel. Our girls were up against a very strong team but as the game went on they really got into their stride. and set up many attacks especially in the second half. Our girls gave it their all to the very end but we had to give way to stronger opposition. The girls have to be commended on their commitment, determination and positive attitude. Special mention has to be given to our three goalkeepers on the day- Emer Ryan, Yasmin Quirke and Leah Mc Garry. They really displayed great heart, courage and skill. All girls played in various positions throughout he game as the go games format allows for rotating substitution. Well gone girls! We play Clonoulty in the final group game at the weekend.
