Moyle Rovers GAA Notes

On a very wet and windy sunday afternoon our senior footballers took on Arravale Rovers in the County Semi Final in Holycross.

The first half was a very close contest between the two sides. Paul Shanahan opened the scoring with a point from play. Arravale

Rovers replied with a point. Peter Acheson scored the next point, Arravale replied with a point from a free. Then Philip quirke in

the 16th scored a most spectaculor free. Philip quickly added a point from play. Arravale Rovers finished the half with a point to

leave the half time score Moyle Rovers 0-4 Arravale Rovers 0-3. Rovers Peter Acheson won the ball from the through in, travelled

down the field, pass the ball to Philp Quirke who had no difficulty sticking the ball in the net. Paul Shanahan scored a great point

from a free before Arravale replied with a point. Paul Shanahan stepped up yet again to point another fantastic free. Again Arravale

Rovers replied with a point. Then in the 20th Minute Peter Acheson gave a long ball into Philip quirke who rounded the full back

and sent the ball straight past the Arravale goalie. Final Score Moyle Rovers 2-6 Arravale Rovers 0-5. They now face Thomas

Mcdonagh in the County Final on 6th November. Well Done and best of luck to the boys.
