Congratulations to our intermediate hurling who got their county championship campaign off to a great start with a win over Rockwell rovers score line 2-16 to 1-12.  Goals from Shane luttrell  and Denis McGrath

The seniors played their second league match last Sunday morning in Monroe against Cahir and won 3-5 to 0-4. Moyle Rovers had the opening score from a Niamh Lonergan point. They then settled and began to convert their chances. They went into a commanding lead of 3-2 to 0-2 at half time.  This was a good performance from the team who worked hard all over the field to secure the win.
Credit to the backs and midfield who took on their opposite numbers and carried the ball well up the field to create scoring chances which were well taken by the forwards.
Team: Rachael Lonergan, Hazel Shanahan, Tina Mulcahy, Claire Clancy, Gemma O’Dwyer, Aoife Power, Niamh Foley, Barbara Ryan, Niamh Lonergan (0-1),Rosin McGrath, Sarah Everard(1-0), Ann Marie McGrath (1-2),Rita McGrath, Megan Shanahan, Laura Grace (1-0). The Under 14s opened their championship campaign against last year’s under 12 county A champions Aherlow. The first half was very evenly matched with excellent score taking on both sides. The teams were level at halftime on 2-4 apiece and it was all to play for in the second half. It was Aherlow who got the scores while Moyle Rovers missed some chances that would have kept them in contention. Eventually Aherlow got the upper hand and they maintained their grip on the game to win by 6-7 to 2-5.

Our U12s took part in a County Blitz which was held in Monroe on Saturday last. We fielded two teams (Thanks to camogie who adjusted their fixture). Each team played five games with the emphasis being on skills development and of course fun! Well done to Edmund Burke, our county and club development officer, who organised this large and very successful blitz.
The under 16s are scheduled to play the county semi final Sunday April 27 at home against Cappawhite. The Tipperary under 16s play Clare this Wednesday at 3.00pm in Lattin. A win will qualify them for the Munster Final.
Tipperary under 14s play the Munster C final on May 3. Tipperary minors open their championship against  Kerry away on April 19 and Tipperary intermediates play their league Semi final on April 26. We have strong club representation on all teams and wish all involved the very best of luck. Reminder to all that all players will have to be registered for the playing season or they will not be allowed play. We are holding a special registration night Friday April 25 at 7.30 at which we will complete registrations for 2014.
