On Monday 30th April, our U12b team played St Pats in the County Championship in Munroe.

This was our second time to play St Pats and after having suffered a defeat in the previous game, the Moyle Rovers team went all out to reverse that result.

The game was very competitive and both sides moved the ball quickly to their forwards.

St Pats began strongly and raced into a 2 goal lead but late in the half, goals by Hugh O’Sullivan and Adam Maher had the sides level at 2-01 each at half time.

A great point by Conor Og Ryan opened the scoring for Moyle Rovers in the second half.

Moyle Rovers defended extremely well with some great saves by Oisin Crowe with Luke Manning, Aidan Hickey and Aidan Lonergan keeping scores to a minimum.

Sarah O’Connor, Lucy Holihan and Louise Morris won valuable ball in midfield and worked well together to provide great scoring opportunities to our forwards.

Aaron Kiely as always was a tower of strength up front and kept Moyle Rovers in the game until the last minutes.

Unfortunately the bounce of the ball went against Moyle Rovers and 2 late goals from St Pats settled this tie.

However, if there was ever honour in defeat, this was it.

Final score Moyle Rovers 3-05 – St Pats 6-02
