South Senior Football Moyle Rovers V Kilsheelan

South Senior Football Championship

In the first round of the Clonmel oil Senior football Championship we saw Kilsheelan/Kilcash take on Moyle Rovers on a sunny Saturday afternoon in Clonmel Sportfield. There was very little between the two sides in the first half, but Moyle Rovers 

Donnacha Lonergan opened the scoring with a point for Kilsheelan, Michael McHugh quickly added a second point. It was Diarmuid Foley to open the scoring for Moyle Rovers, Sean Carey quickly added a second point. Kilsheelan Ian Coughlan added another point to put his side in the lead for the second time. Sean Keating and Martin Dunne added two more points to Rovers tally. With both sides unable to find their accuracy for over 10minutes.  Declan Browne and John Shanahan scored another two points for Moyle Rovers before Ian Coughlan replied with a point.  it was Declan Browne and Diarmuid Foley scored two points in the final minutes of the first half to leave the half time score Moyle Rovers 0-8 Kilsheelan 0-4.   The Moyle Rovers defence dominate in the second.  Moyle Rovers scored 10 unanswered point in the second half, scored by Declan Browne(0-4), Darren Nolan(0-1), Diarmuid Foley(0-1) Sean Carey (0-1), Liam Boland (0-1), John Shanahan(0-1).  Kilsheelan's Adrian Walsh & Conor Davin Murphy replied with 2 points.   It was in the closing minutes that a great passages of play finished by Martin Dunne scoring a goal.  Final score Moyle Rovers 1-19 Kilsheelan 0-6
